"Let no one look down on [you because of] your youth, but be an example and set a pattern for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in [moral] purity."

    - 1 Timothy 4:12

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Treslyn Davenport knew the importance of community and service. Growing up in New Orleans, she was open to a very diverse population of people from all different backgrounds; those of which include, but are not limited to, blacks and whites, the rich and the poor, upper class, middle class and lower class citizens, and much more. Treslyn began to learn about helping people in her community while attending Catholic school in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended St. Rita Catholic Central School (grades pre-k-eighth) and moved on to attend St. Mary’s Dominican High School for her high school career. Having a Christian foundation and being raised in the church, she started to help her church members with providing service for others. Treslyn started helping her community through her church by assisting with teaching Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and with her Church’s Community Outreach Program, which was designed to feed and clothe the homeless in the church’s community. Having the opportunity to do community service with her elementary school, high school, and church, Treslyn knew that giving back to her community was something that she was truly passionate about.

As Treslyn was growing up, she always knew the importance of having ambition and self-worth. Having the ability to be guided in life by influential role models, Treslyn knew she would, one day, want to teach the youth in her community what she was taught growing up. She aims to be an inspirational role model in many kid's lives and help them grow into strong men and women. After moving away from home to attend college at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Treslyn started to build her future career by majoring in Political Science with a Pre-Law concentration and minoring in Sociology. After graduating from college, Treslyn plans to advance her educational career even further by attending law school with a focus on family law.

During Treslyn's first year in college, she decided to start designing her very own non-profit organization. In the beginning of 2017, Treslyn took action to make a game plan and map out what type of program she wanted to create and the purpose for the program. During the summer of 2017, Treslyn finalized her plans with her non-profit organization and came up with the acronym "DREAM", which stands for dedication, resilience, education, aspiration and motivation. With these five concepts in mind, Treslyn knew she wanted her mission for her organization to revolve around those five words. Her main goal with her organization is to teach the youth the importance of self-diligence and self-respect; the importance of motivation, aspiration and a higher education. Making it her priority to found an organization in order to help the youth in her community, at 19 years old, Treslyn went ahead with one of her biggest goals and established The DREAM Project™.

This organization is dedicated in loving memory of Pamela M. Davenport, the mother of Treslyn E. Davenport and the wife of Robert Davenport Jr.

May you rest in peace.

Treslyn was one of the two recipients for Loving Four Baptist Tabernacle's

2015 Youth of the Year Award
