The Mission:

The goal of this organization is to mentor and guide our youth to a road of success. The program will focus on teaching our youth how to set goals and how to maintain them. Within the program, the youth will be taught how to create a life road map in order to help them on their journey to pursuing their goals. The DREAM Project™ will also help our youth prepare for job interviews by teaching them what's appropriate attire and what isn't. Etiquette skills and proper manners will also be taught throughout the program. The goal of The DREAM Project™ is to shape our youth into strong, intelligent, self-respected and self-motivated men and women, that they are destined to be.

The Meaning:
The name "The DREAM Project™" is an acronym created by the founder of the organization, Treslyn Davenport. DREAM stands for Dedication, Resilience, Education, Aspiration and Motivation. These five words give an overview of the importance and goals of this organization. Within the organization, one of the objectives is to teach our youth how to set goals in life and to remain dedicated to accomplishing those goals.  Teaching our youth how to remain resilient through tough times will help guide them on their journey in life. One of the most important concepts within this program is to teach our youth the importance of an education, especially a higher education! Every individual within our youth today, should be taught the importance of having aspiration; aspiring to be a better person in life can guide others to make a change in their life as well. Tying these four concepts together, is the notion of motivation. The DREAM Project™ is set with the goal of motivating our youth to build their future in order to motivate others!

The program workshops will launch Summer 2018.

Aside from our workshops, The DREAM Project does a little bit more in the community. The organization hosts an annual Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway to help families prepare a holiday dinner for their loved ones. As a non-profit, we have also collected items in the past to donate to Salvation Army to help get families back on their feet after the catastrophic disaster of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas and Lake Charles, Louisiana. We have also conducted a Christmas toy giveaway designated for hospitalized children.
